Dowd's deft production, coupled with the merging of this sublime rhythm section along with the band led to the creation of nine glorious tracks that run the gamut between blues, gospel, soul and country. Not my favourite of the too see my other review, although did like the singles at the time, these were souped up. "Jailbird" has kind of a Southern Rock vibe going. I bought this album for the song "Rocks". There are no bad tracks on the album. I can’t tell you how much I love this album, it’s what should have been released originally before George Clinton got his grubby mitts on it. Very stripped down sound where the songs hold more power than the officially released album. Fans of 70s-style hard rock with generous doses of funk, soul and blues will like this CD alot. Beginning to end, a fantastic piece of art here.
