Horrified: Universal Monsters is a cooperative strategy board game for ages 10+ and takes about an hour to play. To offset the constant threat, I’ve collected quite a few items and even have two Perk cards I can play as needed: This is important: When a monster attacks a hero, you can discard an item to compensate for each hit. Required fields are marked *. Solo play was a bit imbalanced, however, though it’s easily solved by changing the starting setup. That’s why when I got wind of a new board game called Horrified that was themed around the classic Universal monsters, I was definitely interested. Sign up or login to join the discussions! We’ve played enough cooperative games that we know how to work together, and we felt that it was just too easy. Attacks are pretty straight-forward: roll the indicated number of dice. Universal’s planned series of remakes feauring its classic monsters may be struggling to get off the ground, but it’s licensed board game by Ravensburger is a certain hit. Also, the Invisible Man is peeping on everybody's significant other, Frankenstein's Monster keeps strangling bystanders, the Wolf Man has been fetching femurs that are still attached to their owners, and the Mummy is smashing records for biggest box office flops.
