Great collection of stories from the No.1 crime author. You can start with this. As another reviewer has rightly said, these stories are not as complex and detailed as the longer Poirot stories but they are very good. As a library worker and doting aunt I welcome the chance to encourage her to read a classic writer rather than the dystopian literature that is so prevalent now.

I'm a great fan of this author and have read nearly all of her novels, but this collection of 50 short stories, all featuring the famous Hercule Poirot, was frankly very disappointing. These are short stories and such are not detailed, but enjoyable.

Little disappointed to see that it is not the complete collection, rather the complete "short story" collection. It contains 38 short stories plus the 12 Labours of Hercules (and an introduction to 12 Labours, which isn't really a story as such). I give it 4/5 because as much as I love them, I still sometimes wish the evidence leading to the solution wasn't deliberately hidden from the reader during the plot's progression. At the beginning of each story there is a note about the publication date for each story showing when it first appeared in England and in the United States and in which publication.
