While Curious George won't be on my list of this year's favorites, it was a warm, endearing film that evoked warm memories of my childhood. Very charming, not a sour note in the entire film!! The film's humor is aimed squarely at kids & kids at heart. First off I have to say that I am a huge Curious George fan and have been since I was a little girl. Simple, charming, attractively animated (by hand, with some 3D effects which blend in well), appropriate for kids, with no Seinfeldian self- consciousness or Adam Sandler-style gross-out humor, this film is near perfect.

Here I am, taking my 2 year old to a movie expecting to be bored stiff. I love how the movie incorporates adult jokes and childish jokes. The lead animator of Ted (who I think was also David Brewster, but I will check on) never lets him turn into a 2 dimensional character which comes naturally when he spends a lot of time chasing George. I am embarrassed when my six year old repeats lines from the movie like the whole dirty hoe thing and all that.

My wife and I took our 9-year-old to see a sneak preview of "CG" over the weekend.
